Jenny L. Shane, J.D.

Jenny is a Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator. Prior to obtaining her mediation certification, Jenny was an attorney practicing in the field of civil litigation. As an attorney, Jenny experienced the long, drawn-out process of litigation, the hassles of the court system, and the thousands of dollars spent on attorneys’ fees. With this experience in mind, Jenny knew she needed to help families, who are struggling with their own stress, avoid the inevitable hardship of the courts. She now dedicates her time to helping families come to resolutions regarding issues of divorce, separation, Parenting Plans, custody/time-sharing schedules, child support, and property division without the intervention of the courts.

Jenny is the Founder and President of Divorce In Peace, which was formerly known as Family Focused Mediation. She primarily helps families in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties. However, she is qualified to conduct mediation throughout the state of Florida. Divorce In Peace handles cases that are lawyer-represented and pro se. Pro se means the parties mediate without hiring attorneys. Additionally, Divorce In Peace specializes in pro se, pre-suit mediation, which means the parties choose to mediate on their own prior to filing at the courthouse.

Jenny graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She later attended Stetson University College of Law and graduated Cum Laude. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Jenny, herself, is a mother. She understands the responsibilities and stresses that accompany parenthood and family and brings her compassion to the mediation process. With her own personal experiences, educational background in psychology, and practical experiences as an attorney, Jenny personifies the perfect combination required for a family mediator.
